Gear Review: Socks and Gloves

So far these are the two items we have in. Once all the gear is in, it will be distributed. Plan on the first week of Jan for this.

Gloves: One ride in, so this is not a long term test. The gloves are great. Have a great design, fit snug and the padding is on the light side (which I like, but that would be personal preference). I think they look great too. Caught myself looking at my hands a few times during the ride.

Socks are great too. They are by DeFeet so it was as I expected. I like them, but the logo came out a bit big. I think next go around we will downsize that slightly. They are black socks with the logo and name on them. That said, great socks, can't go wrong with these:

What is that logo?

It is a cerebral cortex (brain)...CoreTechs...thus the tie into the name of CoreTechs.

Just need to use the ole cortex more to figure stuff out.

We have new posters coming to a bike shop and coffee shop near you. The art work was donated by Lunagraphica. In my opinion they did a very nice job. We have these ordered and they should arrive by about 12/15/09. Our PR person, Josette, has said she already has a few shops and coffee places that have agreed to display these.

The Dec 6 Ride

Hey guys, only 5,000 vertical feet of climbing, in freezing temperatures, but not much rain. What's not to love? It's California and we are riding our bicycles in December in gorgeous terrain. I, being a former Canadian, love it.

I am thrilled to be riding in December 2009 on relatively dry roads, with beautiful fall foliage in the trees and on the ground, and able to do so on a road bike with slick tires, instead of a mountain bike with spikes in our tires!

Team Ride on Dec 6th

It was 20 degrees and the sleet was coming down hard. The Alaskan winds came at us from Canada. Ok, maybe not that bad, but being from LA, that is what it felt like to me. If the temps get under 65 that is like riding through a Winter storm to me.

The ride was led by Laura and that meant only hills. Dave knew what to expect, and I think is becoming a bit of a Laura protegee. I am starting to worry about him. John and Jon had never ridden with Laura and I think may not again. That said, it was a good three hr ride with a crappy 20 minute decent of Page Mill heading home (cold, wet and steep).

Good to have a CoreTechs Cycling Team ride and looking forward to many more...once the sun comes out!
